From 2017-2019, SPEEC worked to revise our shared Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) evaluation tool to incorporate the Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) developed for pharmacy graduates by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). During this process, SPEEC also developed a basic framework for the syllabi of core and elective APPEs. These revisions are intended to standardize experiences across our shared preceptor base. The combined changes in syllabi and evaluation tools are being fully implemented during the 2019-2020 APPE year.
To assist preceptors in implementing these changes, SPEEC has worked collaboratively to create this series of preceptor development modules. Preceptors are strongly encouraged to complete all modules prior to precepting your next APPE student. If you have any questions, please contact the APPE Director for your affiliated school(s).
